The usefulness of a scientific blog
One of the biggest obstacles for scientific research is the difficulty in communicating with the population or with non-professionals. The media give little space to the numerous research projects underway in universities around the world and to the innovative ideas and results achieved with years of sacrifice.
A blog is a powerful tool that directly connects an author with his audience and perhaps above all, a place where surfers with common interests can meet and exchange opinions.
Scientific blogs focus their attention on science or more specifically on research results and are usually managed by scientists or scientific journalists.
Scientific bloggers, whether they are researchers or simply journalists, can:
- Inform their readers about news from the world of science
- Explain complicated subjects and make them understandable even to the less experienced
- Analyze the results of research and support the scientific work carried out
- Articulate your position on controversial subjects.
Scientific blogs can be considered as a new model of scientific journalism and as a powerful tool that can be used by academic institutions to disseminate scientific information and facilitate the conversation on science.
Using the simple language and effective communication strategy that characterize a blog, the scientific world can certainly become "pop" and get closer to a wider pool of users.
Below are two examples of blogs on topics related to my blog.
