Rethinking the city and society with Social Housing.
The research intends to focus on the possibility that Social Housing, as a formal vision of the so-called public city, can become a tool of
regeneration: in fact, the new building interventions can be seen as valid
elements of virtuous densification not only of volumes but also of
uses, meanings and socio-spatial relationships.
The new Social Housing
buildings have all the potential to be seen as interventions aimed at
renovating large areas of the city and, through careful planning not only for
housing but also with criteria of quality and livability, and through a well-defined social project as well as urban-architectural, they can offer
specific local services and collective spaces adapted to the needs of a society
that is suddenly changing.
Social
Housing must be seen as a unique opportunity to define a new
habitat capable of guaranteeing human and social relationships and not
only as a tool for providing a service.
